OhioHealth Grandview Yard Half & Quarter Marathon Sets Record in Fourth Year

COLUMBUS, Ohio – August 21, 2025 — The 4th Annual OhioHealth Grandview Yard Half & Quarter Marathon and Purple Heart 5K welcomed more than 2,400 runners and walkers to Grandview Heights and downtown Columbus on Sunday, marking the event’s largest field to date. Participation has more than doubled since the inaugural race in 2022, which drew 1,095 athletes — representing growth of over 119% in just four years.

That growth has been fueled by strong community support, led by title partner OhioHealth, and by the energetic and growing spirit of the Columbus-area running and walking community. The event is made possible through coordination between multiple jurisdictions, including the City of Grandview Heights, City of Upper Arlington, and the City of Columbus.

“This event is a true team effort,” said David Babner, Race Director of M3S Sports. “It takes the dedication of our partners, city officials, sponsors, race crew volunteers, and the athletes themselves to create this summer celebration of the healthy, active lifestyle.”

A Course Showcasing Columbus

The half marathon and quarter marathon routes highlighted the unique character of Central Ohio, taking athletes through the heart of Grandview Heights, Upper Arlington, around the Ohio State University and back to the finish line in Grandview Yard. The mix of city streets and neighborhood charm created an exciting backdrop for both participants and spectators alike.

The distance winners were led by the Men’s Half Marathon Champion, Andrew Ye, who set a new course record with a finish time of 1:06:01. Other winners included:

Half Marathon Women’s Champion: Chelsea Hall; 01:19:19*

Post-Race Celebration

Following the finish, participants and their families gathered in Ray E. DeGraw Park in Grandview Yard for a community post-race party. The celebration featured live music, Jet’s Pizza, Panera Bagels, Go Brew NA Beer, Dillion’s Gin Cocktails, Condado Margaritas, Tropical Smoothie samples and more, giving athletes a chance to toast their accomplishments alongside friends, family, and the Columbus running and walking community.

From record-breaking performances to first-time finishers, the 2025 OhioHealth Grandview Yard Half & Quarter Marathon once again reinforced its place as a premier summer event in Central Ohio’s racing calendar.
