September was an exciting month with three distinct & sold-out events, bringing together the running and walking community throughout Columbus.
Here's a look back at the highlights from the Oktoberfest Meiler Vier, Clippers 5K, and Josephinum 4 Miler.
The first event of the month, the Oktoberfest Meiler Vier, kicked off the annual Columbus Oktoberfest celebration. This 4-mile run and walk Started and Finished at the heart of the Oktoberfest event and participants experienced lively German music, festive attire, and the spirit of Oktoberfest.
Each participant received an official Oktoberfest Meiler Vier shirt, finisher’s medal, and a complimentary beer and sausage.
The second-annual Columbus Clippers 5K took place on Sunday, September 15 at Huntington Park. This event combined baseball and the healthy, active lifestyle with runners and walkers “Finishing at Home Plate” of the Columbus Clippers.
Each participant received a Clippers 5K baseball shirt, Finisher’s Medal, and a ticket to watch the Columbus Clippers defeat the St. Paul Saints at the last home game of the Clippers season.
Closing out our September events was the Josephinum 4 Miler, a race that supports the Pontifical College Josephinum. This four-mile race took runners through the beautiful scenic grounds of the Josephinum, making it a unique race experience.
Participants received an official event shirt, Finisher’s Medal and a bottle of wine or jam and were also treated to post-race breakfast burritos.
Each of these events brought something special to the M3S Sports event calendar. Whether it was the cultural charm of Oktoberfest, the excitement of Finishing at Home Plate at Huntington Park, or the meaningful cause behind the Josephinum 4 Miler, we're grateful to everyone who came out to run, walk and volunteer.
