OhioHealth First on the First 5K Sets the Pace for a Healthy Start to the New Year

- Madelyn Hinz, M3S Sports

As the new year dawned, M3S Sports proudly presented the OhioHealth First on the First 5K on January 1 at Otterbein University. It was a fun event that celebrated health, activity, and community spirit. The response from participants highlights the enthusiasm and dedication of the community to kick off the year in a healthy and active way. “I just want to keep running and keep moving,” runner Jessica Baldwin said. “And that is the most important thing for me, for mental health, for physical health like just keep moving.”

They are kick-starting the year toward their goals.

This year's sold-out OhioHealth First on the First 5K was a resounding success. The event saw a diverse group of participants, including both runners and walkers. M3S encourages everyone, regardless of their pace, to join in the celebration of health and movement.

More than just a race, the OhioHealth First on the First 5K serves as the official kick-off to training for the OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon coming up on April 27 in downtown Columbus.

And the excitement didn't end at the finish line. Following the event, participants and spectators gathered for a post-race party, featuring Yabo's Tacos. The celebration provided an excellent opportunity for everyone to unwind, share their achievements, and relish in the sense of accomplishment that comes with starting the year on a healthy note.

We look forward to the continued success of the OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon and the many more events that bring our community together in the pursuit of wellness.
